Quơ means to sweep or reach with the hand or an object, often to gather, catch, or take things quickly and without careful selection.

`Quơ` là đưa tay hoặc vật dài gạt, vơ hay chụp qua một khoảng để gom, bắt hoặc lấy vật: `quơ tay`, `quơ rác`, `quơ một mớ`, *sweep, reach, scoop up, grab*. Từ thường gợi động tác rộng, nhanh hoặc ít lựa chọn; trong `quơ đại cái áo`, nó còn nhấn lấy vội món nào tiện tay. `Quơ` không tự mang nghĩa trộm cắp, chiếm đoạt hay làm rơi; chủ ý và hậu quả phải do câu xác định. Trong lời Sài Gòn–Nam Bộ, `quơ đại`, `quơ một mớ`, `quơ tay` rất tự nhiên; `vơ` gần nghĩa nhưng không thay được trong mọi động tác, còn `quờ` thiên sờ tìm khi khó nhìn. Tab ghi `㧓` như một dạng Nôm có nguồn.
