Tính từ cũ/vùng tả màu hoặc bề mặt nhợt, bạc, mốc mốc như tro, thường thành từng vệt hay mảng: ashy-pale, faded, mottled. Trong lời Nam Bộ cũ, `luốc lác` có thể đứng gần `lem luốc`, nhưng lõi của nó là vẻ màu nhạt, xỉn hoặc vấy vá nhìn thấy được; không mặc định vật có nấm mốc, độc, hư hoàn toàn hay người mắc bệnh. `Luốc luốc` là dạng lặp gần nghĩa. Chữ Nôm mượn `綠` ghi âm `luốc` được từ điển lịch sử xác nhận, nhưng không biến từ này thành Hán–Việt `lục` nghĩa màu xanh.
