A rare Southern form corresponding to lềnh bềnh/lênh bênh: floating or drifting slowly on water, and by extension describing a scene visibly covered or flooded with water. It does not by itself identify depth, current, contamination, or safety.

Từ vùng/hiếm gần `lềnh bềnh, lênh bênh`: (1) vật nổi và trôi lững lờ trên mặt nước: float, bob, drift; (2) trong câu như `nước ngập linh binh`, tả cảnh nước hiện ra rộng hoặc vương ngập quanh chỗ đang nói. Không nhập với `linh láng/lênh láng`, vốn nhấn chất lỏng đổ hoặc lan tràn trên một bề mặt. `Linh binh` không tự cho biết nước sâu, chảy xiết, sạch/bẩn hay nơi đó an toàn; các kết luận ấy cần quan sát hoặc đo riêng.
