Depending on context, mác can mean an old long-handled bladed weapon, a right-falling calligraphic stroke, a brand or label, a technical grade, or the former German mark currency.
Giải nghĩa & ghi chú cách dùng
`Mác` là chuỗi đồng tự, không phải một nghĩa chung. Trong văn cảnh lịch sử, nó chỉ binh khí cán dài có lưỡi; trong thư pháp Hán tự, nó là nét đưa từ trái xuống phải. Các lớp hiện đại và cận đại còn chỉ nhãn hiệu, trị số/cấp kỹ thuật như `mác bê tông`, và đồng mark Đức cũ. Khi dịch phải chọn `polearm`, `right-falling stroke`, `brand/label`, `grade/designation` hay `mark` theo đúng nét. Nguồn hiện có nêu các hướng vay phương Tây khác nhau cho lớp nhãn hiệu và đo lường, nên VietLayers không ép toàn bộ đồng tự vào một từ nguyên. Các bảng chữ chỉ liệt kê nhiều dạng đọc mà chưa định vị trực tiếp cho từng nét nghĩa này, vì vậy tab Hán–Nôm giữ rỗng đã kiểm chứng.
