An older and regional Vietnamese word with two related uses: it can mean được—being able to do something or achieving a result—and it can introduce a purpose, meaning để or để mà (‘so that’, ‘in order to’). It remains natural in parts of southern speech and in older texts, but its distribution varies by speaker and context.
