An informal expression, especially familiar in southern Vietnamese and now widely understood, meaning a very small amount, degree, distance, or period of time. Context determines whether it means a little, a tiny bit, or a moment.

Cụm khẩu ngữ chỉ một lượng, mức độ, khoảng cách hoặc thời gian rất nhỏ, đặc biệt quen thuộc trong lời nói Nam Bộ và nay được hiểu rộng. Với vật chất hay mức độ, thường dịch là a little/a tiny bit; với lời nhờ chờ, là a moment; trong “chút xíu nữa”, có thể là thêm một ít hoặc một lát nữa tùy động từ. Không nên nhồi “chút xíu” vào mọi câu để tạo màu Nam Bộ.
